Dragons and Snakes and Lizards, Oh My!

In which we touched and held a real dragon and a huge snake!

Thanks to a Wild School Grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, we had an amazing in-house field trip today at Little Schoolhouse in the Woods!

Arrowhead Reptile Rescue brought the wonder of reptiles to us! and what a crew they brought:

• Ruth the bearded dragon

• Sandal the blue-tongued skink

• A baby box turtle

• A yellow-bellied slider

• Rudy the fat-tailed leopard gecko, who stores its calories in its tail.

• A desert tortoise

• Princess the pixie frog

• Pearl the albino corn snake

• Fred the ball python

• And Lela, the humongous Burmese python!

We’re so grateful for their patience, knowledge, and the way they made this a truly hands on experience for every child. What a memorable day of learning and discovery—thank you, Arrowhead Reptile Rescue!
